A preview page from Avatar: The Search. Apparently there is a rumour going around that Ozai might not be Zuko’s father. Now, to my knowledge that has yet to be proven true so it’s still just speculation.
Man on the first picture is Ikem, Ursa’s young love, they were separated when Ozai hand picked Ursa to betrothed. Which is what is happened in the second picture.

So… Zuko’s real father wasn’t Ozai or even Iroh. It was… the ATLA equivalent of Bane in the pit. Is that what I’m seeing? You know… I can roll with that.
Interesting. It would certainly explain Ozai’s unique hatred for Zuko, starting when Zuko was a young boy, as opposed to his overt fatherly pride in Azula. I’d always thought Ozai’s malevolent feelings toward Zuko went far beyond “he’s just not great at firebending compared to his sister”.

In the caption for my previous picture, I mentioned doing Zutara fanfic doodles. Well, I sort of pursued that idea (I’m calling it a series, but I have NO CLUE if I’ll have time to do more now that school’s starting on Monday). Ignore the nastiness that is everything in this.
*blush* Yes, this is the first fanfic that came to mind. The story’s a bit (really) raunchy but it’s amazingly well written!!! =D I’m highly critical when it comes to fanfiction, hah.

Lost in her own thoughts, she didn’t hear Zuko stealthily approach until she felt him nudge her—bodily but gently—from behind, his hot breath tickling against the shell of her ear. “Need some help?”
She stiffened. “Not from you.”
Zuko chuckled quietly as her grip tightened on the dishware in front of her. “Amazing how someone so fastidiously clean can be so dirty at the same time,” he whispered in a low rasp.
“Shut up. I’m not dirty,” she hissed back between her teeth, elbowing him sharply in the ribs for his impudence. Blood blossomed unwillingly in her cheeks.
His hands, below the view from the other side of the shelf of rock, curled around her waist, his fingers digging into her hips and pulling her more firmly against him. “Denial is the first steptowards acceptance,” he chortled into her ear.
She elbowed him again harder, feeling her body start to respond to him. “Stop it…don’t stand so close to me—they’re watching!”
“So? Let them watch.”

I just spent ten minutes replying to this kind-of-anti-Zutara post that showed up in the Zutara tag, and I had it all edited and ready for posting.
But then I just decided that I really didn’t give that much of a fuck. Because ship wars are stupid and I will ship Zutara for always and no anti-Zutara preaching is going to change that motherfuckers.
This is my life.
As much as it irritates me to see the fanon pairing hate YEARS after the series ended, I agree - you’re not going to change their minds. We’ve tried for four years to make people see that Zutara is plausible, and that their redemption and forgiveness arc in the series was one of the most compelling features of the show - but in the end anything we say falls on the deaf ears of people sticking their fingers in their ears, shutting their eyes, and screaming “CANON!!!!”.
It’s just not worth getting upset over, anymore. I frankly don’t give a fig who hates me for liking Zutara. They can kiss my ass. Haters are not going to stop me from writing fanfic about this amazing couple.
